The Decision… Again
Another year, another Championship for the Dubs... Though every basketball fan knew what was inevitably coming to Lebron, we just didn't want to see it happen that way... As a fan of competitive basketball, I have to say this current Cavalier team is just depressing... Not just because Cedi Osman only scored 2 points less than Kyle Korver, or because George Hill averaged 8 PPG in 30 MPG, or the fact that JR Smith was probably still drunk from the night before in Game 1.
It has been proven that for every great player to be successful, he must have a great supporting cast around him. Jordan had Pippen, Rodman, Horace Grant, Steve Kerr, Robert Parrish & more. Kobe had Shaq, Robert Horry, Derek Fisher, Lamar Odom & Pau Gasol. Yes, before people complain, Lebron has had some great teammates in Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and I guess an older Ray Allen, but let's be real. He's carried trash teams his whole career. Does anyone honestly remember anyone on that Cavs' roster from his first Finals appearance? If you're reading this, be honest with yourself. Do you really remember watching 'Boobie' Gibson, Delonte West or Sasha Pavlovic play??? Didn't think so... And if it wasn't for rumors about hooking up with Lebron's mom, you probably would forget Delonte West.
With Lebron's streak of 8 continuous Finals Appearances likely coming to an end, It's up to Dan Gilbert to put aside his personal relationship with Lebron and focus on fixing his team. Seeing Ohio is his home-state, I don't believe he will leave Cleveland, but he will need some help ASAP. The Cavs have a couple glaring needs on both sides of the ball and there are a number of upcoming FA's who I believe would make an immediate impact.
